Let’s talk ballpark food

The dining options available at the ballpark have come a long way from hot dogs and peanuts. Nowadays fans expect some culinary invention while taking in a baseball game, and soon they’ll be able able to make a difference while enjoying a meal at the ballpark. MasterCard and Stand Up To Cancer are launching a Dig In & Do Good program that will see proceeds from food purchases go toward funding cancer research.

So the next time you sink your teeth into a Pat LaFrieda’s Filet Mignon Steak Sandwich or some Chicago’s Greektown Gyro Nachos, you could be helping in the fight against cancer. With ever-expanding menus offering unique creations at stadiums throughout baseball and MLB.com Bloggers sharing their favorites, there’s something for every palate.

We want to hear from you. Have you eaten something at the ballpark that surprised you or blew your mind? Blog about it and don’t forget to include photos and tag your post #DoGood. Then leave the link to your post here, and we’ll highlight your food posts in a panel on the MLB.com Blogs front page.

Tell us your favorite spots to eat and #DoGood around your ballpark!

Video embedding update

Embedding MLB.com videos onto your MLB.com Blog is back to normal, and thanks for your patience.

Want to blog about Homer Bailey’s latest no-hitter? Watch the video on MLB.com and click “Embed” there and copy the embed code. Using the Text tab of your dashboard’s New Post field, paste the code as I’m doing here:

Tip: To make the video fill the entire blog column width, as you see here, change the width in the code from 400 to 550, and change the height from 224 to 318.

And while we’re on the subject, see my story on MLB.com to find out how to get a free Domino’s pizza thanks to Homer.

Catch Miller Park’s “Bucks on the Pond” Episode!

See how an MLB.com Blog, Twitter and the coolest game show on the Internet helped lead to an unforgettable day at a Major League ballpark…

Cait Covers the Bases

If you’ll recall, a couple of weeks ago, I wrote that MLB.com’s hit game show, “Bucks on the Pond,” powered by Ford, was slated to visit Miller Park.

“Bucks,” hosted by Jeremy Brisiel, has been to more than half of all Major League ballparks giving fans a chance to walk away with some cash by interacting with MLB.com’s studio through the magic of technology in conjunction with game action inside.

Well, today, that segment that was filmed at Miller Park on Sunday, June 9 is live on MLB.com. Tune in to check out how your fellow Brewers fans (and blog readers!) fared in the latest episode:

I also encourage you to check out Mark Newman of MLB.com’s story about these fans.
