January 2012 Latest Leaders

MLB.com Blogs Latest Leaders

Will 2012 finally be the Year of the Cubs? That eternal question remains to be seen for Theo Epstein, Jed Hoyer, Dale Sveum, Starlin Castro and everyone around Wrigleyville, but perhaps it is an omen that the top overall ranking in the year’s first monthly MLB.com Blogs Latest Leaders went to a Cubbies blog. More people followed the blog of MLB.com veteran Cubs beat reporter Carrie Muskat than any other at MLB.com. Rays Renegade was the top Fan blog (check out Rockpile Rant‘s all-sports versatility lately btw!), and the MLB.com Hot Stove Blog topped the PRO theme category as the Prince Fielder signing came and went. If you switch to a different WordPress.com theme for a day or two during that month, those page views will not be included for these purposes because they cannot be recorded by MLB.com. Look for more MLB themes in 2012 and make sure you’re in the February MLB.com Blogs Latest Leaders!

Hey everyone, I’m looking for a few more people to join a mlblogs fantasy baseball league. E-mail me (bdchogg13@yahoo.com) or comment on one of my blog posts to tell me if you’re interested. Thanks!

It’s the giddiest time of the year!
Jeff & Al

Have a great season RSBS – you guys are practically originals here!

I just saw the Spring Training feature on the front page earlier today, Mark. Thank you so much for the shout out. You made me smile on a Monday morning, and that’s seriously saying something. 🙂
— Kristen

Spring Training is under way and I am kind of flustered with the Phillies. Don’t know what to expect.

My first month in six or seven where I’m not in the top 50. I thought I’d update more in the off-season, but I just haven’t brought myself to do it. I need baseball back. There are only so many times I can write about how much I don’t want the Jays to sign Manny.

#19 after my first full month back of consistent content production.

As Robin Yount is the Brewers’ G.O.A.T. (as well as my personal sports hero) it’s the perfect position to be in as The Brewer Nation revitalizes.

Please check out my winter/spring-training season preview series “Brewers By the (Jersey) Numbers”. As we get the same number of days away from Opening Day (April 6th for Milwaukee) as a player is assigned to wear on his jersey, I preview said player. I look at not just the 40-man rosterees but also any NRIs that I feel the fanbase needs to hear something about.

Today’s entry? John Axford. http://brewernation.mlblogs.com/2012/02/07/brewers-by-the-jersey-numbers-59-john-axford/

Congrats to the others that made the list!

– Adam

congrats leaders! View my site at http://nsib.mlblogs.com great new up and coming site!

I always use my position on the list as fodder for a new post, and this month is no different. This one’s for all Yankees fans.

Glad to see my A’s blog – A’s Farm – in the Top 50 fan blogs in its first month – thanks to everyone who’s stopped by! If you haven’t already, please check it out. And stay tuned for more great stuff on all the A’s up and coming young players as the season, and spring training, get underway!

Congratulations to All! Congratulations to Jon SooHoo also how has been posting some terrific pictures from the past. http://dodgersphotog.mlblogs.com
I came in at #22! Clayton Kershaw’s number! Woohoo! Thank you call!
(note that when I include the link of my blog, comment does not show, {tried yesterday and today}trying with out now).

Got to be pretty satisfied with #18. Thank you to everyone who reads The Rays Rant, and congrats to everyone who made the list!

Yay, the Top 50 List! Thank you, Mark for giving us this fun every month. It’s February. Spring Training is so close that I can taste it and I can’t wait to see what the new season has in store, on the field and on the blogs too! Many thanks to everyone who continues to read my blog.

Yay for #10! I’m going to be featuring my first exclusive interview on my blog tomorrow- it’s with the Giants beat writer from the San Francisco Chronicle- and am very excited to continue expanding my blog’s range through the coming month and season beyond. Thanks to everyone who reads and comments and congratulations to everyone on this list!

Diamond Girl

Still gives me a giggle when I popped on the Latest Leaders List each month and see my little writs near the top spot. I could say my # 1 spot is a representation of the jersey number worn by Rays SS/2B Sean Rodriguez, but I see it more as an homage to the real # 1’s off the turf…..my readers. It has been a true blast chatting with all of you, cruising your blog posts and doing the ” comment dance”. That is the great thing about this MLBlogs community, every opinion is relevant, special and has a place. For those wondering if they could reach this ranking zenith I have some hope. Less than 4 years ago I sat on the outside of # 25 looking in, today because of readers and comments, you have helped me achieve not only a writing goal, but shown you do not have the write about the “Big Boys” to get a chance to shine.
Again, my deepest thanks, and come on mid-February…I’m antsy for hear the ball hit the mitt!!!!

Awesome job, everyone! Still kind of crazy to see some blogs making the top 50 and haven’t blogged in about a year! Lol.

Can’t wait for baseball season!

Brewers Today is #49, Yovani Gallardo’s number! Absolutely great to make the list and grace the MLBlogs Jumbo.

Come check out Brewers Today, I plan to post about the Brewer’s bench players within the next two days.

He is referring to our mediawall panel presentation at http://MLB.com/blogs – reminder that you can get on there by using the tag MLBlogs Jumbo and saying in a post why you should be featured there, including an image in your post that can be promoted there as well. Thanks!

Hey, Mark. Seems like something is up. I received about 15-20 spam comments over night last night. Is it just me?

Thanks – please refer to this post about unwanted comments: http://mlblogs.mlblogs.com/2011/11/29/dealing-with-problem-comments

Mark-Thanks for the nice mention and congrats to all who made the list and those still chugg’n. For me MLBlogs is a platform for all I do (Baseball, Football, Basketball, Concerts, etc). Your blog is only limited by your imagination. Think your blog is different? Stop by the Rant and leave a comment with a link and I’ll check you out. Spring training for me is in 43 days and the Rox Addict and I plan to “OWN” Phoenix for 11 days…Go Rockies…”D”

I’ll take the Cubs being on top as an omen. Congratulations to everyone on the list. Bring on Spring training!

Thanks for compiling and publishing this list, Mark. Glad to be on it again!
– Malcolm

Congratulations to all the leaders! I’m looking forward to this weekend’s football game getting behind us so we can start the countdown to Spring Training in earnest…
