Latest Leaders – Feb. 24-March 2

Latest Leaders in the MLBlogs Network by page view, for the period from Feb. 24-March 2.

MLB PRO BLOGS

Matthew Leach was the first MLB.com writer ever to start an MLBlog, with his intro post nearly four years ago. “So here goes…” he concluded back then, and at this point Obviously You’re Not a Golfer is the most-viewed in the MLBlogs Network of megathousands. Your friendly neighborhood blog-watcher here was an aberration at No. 6 because I used this space for a morning-to-night liveblog of last week’s first full day of live baseball games — and benefitted humbly from the top headline on MLB.com. Daniel Moskos remains the top player blogger (look for Yankee farmhand Bradley Suttle to rise based on early startup returns), and Cub fans are enjoying the latest Vine Line fare from Arizona.

FAN BLOGS

It’s been a great Spring Training so far for Erin and her beloved Twins, as Plunking Gomez just shot up from 26 to 10. Watch out for YANKEEOLOGY, which has come out of nowhere to snag the No. 11 spot among fan templates. Our followers at the Official MLBlogs Twitter (@mlblogs) know Rosh well, and save for the occasional snowdrift he’s on a roll. Jane retains the top spot in this category and make sure you check out her book-signing post!

Great blogs everyone. It looks like I’ll have to take the blog plunge soon so I can be part of the fun. In the meantime check me out on twitter @Mancos5

    Hey Mark,
Just wanted to let you know that we will be putting the next match-up live shortly, as it looks like this one is going to the Phillies. Thanks again for everything.

CONGRATULATIONS EVERYBODY! This is my first time making the Latest Leaders list at #49 and it feels pretty cool…Going back to the second comment from WRIGHT WAY, someone who frequently comments on my blog, who said Julia (#3 on the Latest Leaders) always comments on his blog, when I’m convinced she visits my blog at least once, maybe twice a day. There is a comment from her on every post from when I started blogging again this season. Definitely props to Julia and her blog, Julia’s Rants! Thanks agan and keep reading and/or commenting! I’d love to hear from all of you!

Just checking in from Tampa/Yankees spring training. Very excited to be here, even if the Yankees did get their butts kicked by Team Canada my first day at the ballpark. Gorgeous day. Great game. What’s not to love?

I’m done slacking off at the snow covered Ocean City beach. Apparently, this was the ONLY snow they got all year. FIGURES! Dedication blog posted.

I’m kicking around the idea of doing an article on Twitter in and around the MLB. I don’t have the full access that Mark or Bryan may have, but I surely appreciate all the twittering going on.

Congrats to everyone who made the list…you guys are all amazing writers!! This is like a Baseball School for me, I learn so much from everyone. And it’s fun and everyone is so much nicer than my actual school teachers…why can’t I read MLBlogs instead of having English class?

My ranking dedication to #45 Johnny Podres includes a very nice baseball card of Yankee killer Podres (actually I don’t know how it posted twice) and also lyrics from the song “Johnny Podres wears a halo ’round his head”

Yes Mark! you are our lider intrepido (fearless leader)! Note that there is an accent on the “e” but I don’t know how to put it there.
    .
I guess I got to do that twitter thingie. crzblue & crzblue2 are both my names but I forgot the password for the first so I created the second one a long time ago.

It is a honor, as always, to be on the new “Leader’s List” at #25 !!!
    .
As per my tradition, I dedicate my ranking on this latest list in honor of the New York Yankees all-star first baseman, #25 Mark Teixeira, who continues the long line of great first basemen in New York Yankees history, that includes: Lou Gehrig; Chris Chambliss; Don Mattingly; Tino Martinez; and, Jason Giambi !!!
    .
Thank you, to all who have visited my mlblog; and “Congratulations” to all mlblogs on the “Fan” and “Pro” Leader’s Lists !!!

    #11?

I was not prepared for this. I was already in the mindset of, “better luck next week.” I am really touched guys, thank you all so much! I have a really great idea for my dedication blog. I couldn’t think of a better number to debut on the list with. Thanks for being so patient with me through a week when I, uncharacteristically, did not have much to say due to illness and school workloads.

I’ll have more of my mischief coming at’cha this week.

Oh, and Mark, thanks for the kind words. Being stuck in a snowbank for two hours while the sun was rising was not a fun way to begin vacation, but was definitely an adventure worth noting via Twitter.

On-tap for this week: Dedication to #11, Choose your Own Blogventure #1, Four men and a Snowbank, and others!

  12. rocktober2007

Congrats to everyone on the list.
I’m not a very good blogger & I’ll be surprised if I saw my blog on this list someday, with Rockies season starting my blog posting might be sporadic because I work for the Rockies & working home games make me dead tired, too tired to blog but I’ll try to blog when I can.Missyhttp://rocktober-2007.mlblogs.com

  13. "D" The Rockpile Ranter

Wow, my page hits doubled and I’m still at # four. One more game tomorrow and the MBU is Denver bound. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and checked out the best spring training coverage. I’m already planning next year. It will include a review of all Arizona spring training ballparks. This trip wore me out but worth every penny…D

OMG! OMG! I made #45!! I was like “that can’t be!” I am a reader, not a writer. I am not worthy!! But I love it!!! I dedicate #45 to http://johnnypodres.com/db2/00128/johnnypodres.com/_uimages/9781600080333_L.jpg

Thanks Julia for the heads up! Congrats to you and everyone! But everyone is a winner, I truly enjoy reading everyone’s posts and promise to read more blogs. I found this blog from a guy named Alex posting in Spanish from Spain. I need to send him some pictures from his Medias Blancas (White Sox). I love that we communicate with so many fans from everywhere!
    .
Redsoxgirl, I hear you about Nomah! I love Nomah! He was really nice when he was with the Dodgers. He was always giving credit to his teammates when he was being interviewed in the post game. He also hosted a “Carne Asada” event with mariaches at the stadium for the last two years. I will miss him.

    Hey Mark,

I just wanted to pass on the word after talking with Castrovince about the blog how pleasant he was. Please pass this on to mlb.com and if possible give him some kind of accomodation if possible even if its just a note of appreciation.
    Thanks
    Aaron

  16. Jane Heller

Thanks for keeping us all off the streets, Mark, although I’m thinking of starting a 24-hour hotline for all those addicted to MLBlogs and making myself a charter member! I appreciate people stopping by “She-Fan” and, hopefully, finding something entertaining. My spring training adventure starts Wednesday and I’m bringing a video cam!

Just happy to be here :O) And real happy I am still in Florida while the North East is covered in snow!! Wheee! If it makes anyone feel better though, it was a very chilly 55 degress in Florida today! Ok, I know, I am whining :O) Indulge me!

I beat out the baseball cleats blog woooooooohooooooooo.
I guess my number 8 ( for the second week in a row) will have to be dedicated to former Rays catcher Mike DeFelice. He was the Rays 20th selection in the 1997 Expansion Draft. DeFelice was one of the original two catchers for the Rays during their first season, and stayed with the team until being traded in 2001. In 2008, he again came back into the Rays fold as a catcher with the Rays for a while before in April 2008, where he appeared in 8 games while current starter Dioner Navarro was injured. He retired this past September and on Feb. 9, 2009 was named the manager of the Rookie-level Kingsport Mets of the New York Mets organization.

Again thank you to everyone who stops by the Rays Renegade, and especially to Tommy for at Rocky Mountain Way…………Outside Coors Field Looking, for letting me be a part of his Q and A series last week.

Congrats to everyone who write on MLBlogs.com, and keep up the fantastic writings, the season is only a little over a month away.

Congratulations everyone!! It’s great to see all the Spring Training relating posts and all the analyses. I’m guessing that’s how we do it over here. Instead of re-reporting what the beat writers have already said, we put our own little spin on that?

I have some great ideas for the next upcoming entries. Can’t wait to read some more Spring Training entries!

Funny how when I dedicated my last post to #6, Johnny Pesky, I met him at the ballpark Saturday! A new picture is to come later today.

I dedicate #5 to *wipes away tear* Nomar Garciaparra. Entry to come later hopefully. I’ve got to ace my chemistry test if I’m still going to war against the science department!

Maybe I’ll meet Nomar at the park next time 😉
