The big change in this category was the launch of all 30 beat writer blogs for the start of Spring Training. Mark Bowman, who covers the Braves for us at, had twice as many page views as any other MLBlog. Todd Zolecki is not exactly a blog newbie, bringing over many of his existing readers to ZoZone after recently taking over our Phillies beat. You also are going to see lots of player blogs showing up, and in only a few days of blogging, Daniel Moskos quickly debuted at No. 29 as the top overall player MLBlog the past week.

Wow I can’t believe I made the top 50! Thanks everyone who looked at my page!
Whistlin’ Past The Ballpark

Hi, Mark … Thanks for the kind words !!!

Everyone in my family is very proud of my niece, Brittany, who is dedicated to being the best softball pitcher and player she can be … The High School games are exciting and fun to watch, and it is always appreciated by the girls when there are many fans in the crowd rooting the players on … So, I am happy that I had this opportunity to dedicate my #22 ranking in honor of my niece !!! … At some point in the future, I agree, we will probably see a female player in the Major Leagues … There recently was a Japanese female pitcher drafted by a Japanese team; it will be interesting to see how she pitches in the Japan big leagues !!! … But, what I hope for in the immediate future is for Baseball and Softball to be reinstated as sports in the Olympics !!! … It is a shame that both sports will not be part of the 2012 London Olympics !!! … Take care, Mark !!! … Jimmy [27NYY], “BY&L” …

I want to be on the list. I’m reasonably cool…sorta. My blog is kinda humorous. I give love to other bloggers. :o) And I’m an A’s fan!!! What can be better than that!!!! 🙂

We need to boot out the million and one yankee and boston peeps. :o)

I don’t take latest leaders seriously unless I win money. lol

I’m#1 in my own mind. HEHEHE

Orangebird, you rock – that’s a fast start. OK, to help you out: My favorite player growing up was No. 29. Rod Carew. The first time I went to Cooperstown was to cover the 1991 HOF Induction because I was covering the Giants for the San Jose Mercury News, and they were playing the Twins in the old Hall of Fame Game. In a case of perfect timing, I just happened to be covering Carew’s induction that July. So I’d go with 29. Others will have their own ideas. Nice job!

Jimmy: You are the true master of Latest Leader dedications — the originator of them! Looks like you started a trend. Glad to see you giving it up for youth sports. High school softball players deserve fans, too. I still think I will see a female Major League player sometime in my lifetime. How can that NOT happen? It is biologically stupid that it’s all men.

My mlblog dropped a few spots to #22 on the latest Fan Mlblog”Leader’s List” …….. But, that’s okay, as it is always a honor to be on the list !!! … Also, this gives me an opportunity to dedicate my #22 ranking in honor of my niece, Brittany, who wears #22, as the “ace” right-handed starting pitcher, and first baseman, for her High School Varsity Girls Softball Team !!! … She is also one of the best hitters on the team !!! ….. In 2008, Brittany, a junior, was 13-4 with a 2.26 ERA, while recording 125 strikeouts in 108 innings pitched !!! … She also batted .330, leading her team in HR’s; RBI’s; and, Slugging percentage !!! … Brittany will be playing for the same team in her senior year in High School; and, looks forward to attending College on a softball scholarship in the Fall of 2009 !!! … Of course, everyone in my family is very proud of her; and, we all wish her well in 2009, and in future years !!! … “Congratulations” to all mlblogs on the Fan and Pro “Leader’s Lists”; and, also, Thank You, to all who have visited my mlblog !!! … Jimmy [27NYY], “BY&L” …

Yay!!! I never expected to be on this list this early. Thank you MLBlogs and the people who read my blog like Clemson Girl and Julia. Wjo wore 29 worth mentioning.
Up In Section 360

Okay, here’s the plan. My birthday is on Sunday. We’re going to get Yankeeology on this list for next week. Right now I’m holding a Choose Your Own Blogventure. I want to know what you would like me to write about. I’ll also be covering the LET THE GAMES AND BLOGS BEGIN topic.

So far the only response to my open casting was a pair of requests to know about my pro wrestling days. I’m trying to figure out how to craft that into a baseball story, and I have a few ideas. But I need more blog entry ideas. I don’t want to spit the same stats and predictions that everyone else is. I like to be a little different. So let me know what you’ve got!

Rosh Koch //

Hey, everyone, be sure to check out our new LET THE GAMES AND BLOGS BEGIN panel on – and my story about the return of live games on at – then jump into the comments there and be sure to list your own blog URL so you drive traffic from the homepage to your blog…use comments strategically!

Back up to number #37. Thanks folks.

Sometimes those critics can make us better. I know I have had a few, and they make me more centered towards what I am doing here.
But you are correct, someone may end up toying with the wrong person and we will lose some great future writers in the process. Pointing out faults is okay, but to go after them for their opinions is just wrong.

But then again, like the ball park, there is always that group that loves to ridicule and stomp on the hearts of the home team fans. They just do not know we have a strong centeral bond……….baseball that can overcome even the wildest comments.

Rays Renegade

Cool! #31, I dedicated it to Greg Maddux. Check it out…

Thanks, Mark.:)

Indeed, this is fun guys. Keep it real. Fist bumps all around.

Everyone, please be sure Latest Leaders stays true to its origin: WE DO THIS FOR FUN. Some people are taking it too seriously in commenting. Also any personal attacks on other MLBloggers will not be tolerated and those blogs are subject to removal per Terms of Use. Basically always think of this as a big ballpark, and only in rare cases…but sometimes…will people be thrown out. Have fun with your own blogs.

I have dedication blog up! I dedicate my #2 Ranking to Mike Andrews of the Red Sox AND to the Jimmy Fund! Help find the Cure! Check it out on my blog!

I’m still shocked that I got more feedback on the Plate Full of Hate than I did on the story about Heroes of Children. Really? You guys want more bitter, angry, hatred than the good stuff? Has it gone to that? Not sure what I’m talking about?
Rosh Koch //

I Hate:

Heroes of Children:

Why the hell am I not on the list? lol I am heartbroken. Actually, I have been slacking a bit.

Fourth category idea: Blogs written by people named Rosh

Also, since I didn’t cut the mustard (CONSPIRACY!) I have posted up a Choose Your Own Blogventure. What is it? Easy, go to my blog to find out!

Rosh Koch //

OMG, Single digits for two straight weeks.
Some wake me before this all ends.seriously!
Okay a short dedication tonight to the guy who has the third highest stolen bases ( 302 ) since his Major League debut on July 20, 2002.
He is also the first player to increase his average for the first 5 years of his MLB career every year. And his .315 average in 2003 is the Rays highest batting average ever.

He also wore the Rays number 8 jersey only 1 year, in 2002. After that season, he wore the number 13 jersey that he still wears today. So with great honor I dedicate my number 8 ranking to our 2-time All-Star, Carl Crawford.

Thanks you everyone for stopping by and reading my little blog. I am about ready in the next week to enter my 400th blog on I do it because of people like you who read and comment about my rants and raves. Again thank you so much for all your support…….and let’s get to some baseball!!!!!

Rays Renegade

Jane, you were probably joking but actually I was close to doing something like that with this one. What I am contemplating for the next Latest Leaders, now that we have 30 beat writers who all are promoted very high-viz on club homepages, is just creating a category for them. A ranking of 30 beat writer blogs. Then one for all other pro templates (players, club blogs, tommy, broadcasters, screech, yours truly, fantasy 411, groundskeeper, phillies ballgirls, whatever the case) and fan templates. So next week, possibly 3 categories. If that sounded like a trial balloon you are right.

There are so many good posts within the MLBlogs community. Gotta say that my favorite today was Red State Blue State’s David A video. That was good stuff. Great blog.

All the rest of the links will be added during the day on Tuesday, bear with us if you’re among the leaders and wish people could click on your blog title.

WHOO, #41 in only my third week! Thanks everyone

Thank you for #28!

25 I’m back

Wahoo with #10 ranking. I might as well bring up… anyone fans of Jim Tracy, Jose Castillo and/or Matt Morris? TBB sure isn’t.

I have a new goal…making this list before Opening Day. Congrats to all…I’m coming for ya! 🙂

Mark, you should have your own category of bloggers so you don’t get trampled by the beat writers you bring on. How about Blogger-in-Chief Blogs? You could have that list all to yourself!

7 no hitters and 0 Cy Youngs. Overrated. 🙂

Mark – does this mean there have been fewer problems since you fell to #34? Then CONGRATS! lol! Really – we all love our “fearless leader”!

AND – Natsy Nats Lives Here can only log onto my blog & one or two others – said I’d pass the word for him – and help your #s move up! 😉

Baby steps up the list :O) #13 to #12 – I’ll take it :O) Congrats to everyone on the list!!!! Check out my Spring Training coverage…it is SO nice here, I may never come hime ;o)

Wow! I dropped from 4 to 9. I guess that i should be happy that I’m still in the top ten. Stop by and I’ll repay the visit.

Wow 18! That’s still not 24 y’all. I specifically said 24! Haha JK Thanks everyone!

Wow! ITD dropped from 3 to 10. Still good but what is Josh going to say?.. I know… PLC!

Number 6!!! Thank you all for all the help you gave me with my research paper! I finally finished thanks to your suggestions and turned it in today (I think I killed a tree while printing it).

Anyway, thank you all so much for getting me up there! I get to post a very special number 6 blog! In fact, I think I’ll post it later tonight! Stay tuned, it’s going to be a special one!!

Thanks so much again guys!

Congrats everyone! Allen and I are models in consistency. Trying anyway. Check out RSBS TV, sure to make you laugh:

Yeah I got pushed way back from 16 thanks to having 30 beat writers with MLBlogs now! Ha! I get 34, that’s easy. He threw seven no-hitters.

Hey Thanks all! #2 again!

13!!!! YES! Can we move me up just one little spot more, bloggers? Just to number 12. Then I’m happy anywhere. Check out today’s blog on His Airness, and tomorrow stay tuned for my dedication blog to the only #13 I’ve known, Mr. Ozzie Guillen himself. I’ll return the favor. 🙂 Thank you, Blogosphere!

Just wanted to say in my opinion “Plunking Gomez” is the funniest and most original title for a blog I think I have ever seen. The picture on the blog is great too. Congrats Erin Kathleen on 26!

You’re not 16 anymore! (But I’d rather have that than 34) Also, we have a new number 1 in the Pros! Hot Stove Blog is moving out! Here comes baseball!

King Yankees

pagevalnat, gotta leave your full URL as no one can find you.

STILL not in the top 50. People, FIND a way to read it, OK?? LMAO
I mean, between Twitter and Sportsviews (where I linked my latest MLBlog to), you’d think I’d get somebody NOT named Julia or Elizabeth to leave something. Unless, of course, that pesky “You do not have permission…” thing pops up.
That keeps happening to ME, Mark. Comprende?? LMAO

21!!! YES!!! My second highest so far!!!
Please read the questions and respond!
